Palm Desktop translators are not included with Laplink PDASync 3.0. Furthermore, Palm Desktop 4.12 contains a version of Hotsync which is completely incompatible with Laplink PDASync 3.0, regardless of the PC software used to sync with. Currently, Palm Desktop 4.12 is available only with new Palm Tungsten devices, like the T3. If you aren’t sure about your version, go to help->about Palm Desktop.
